“[On-the-spot financing is] a real Blue Ocean Opportunity for credit unions that, if tapped correctly, could really generate a lot of loan growth,” said George Hofheimer, the Chief Knowledge Officer at the Filene Research Institute, a credit unions-centric research center. The on-the-spot financing market is not one in which credit unions are very active, but Mr Hofheimer sees that it holds a “clear market space for credit unions.”
